Cameron is a two-time Emmy Award Winner and a member of the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame.
Cameron holds the honor of being the first Black P.A. broadcaster throughout the entire existence of the Atlanta Hawks.
His popular chant “for3eeeeeeeee” call is highlighted in video games far and wide.
In 2015, Cameron was named one of Atlanta’s 55 Most Powerful by Atlanta Magazine and is one of The Source’s Top 20 Influencers in hip-bounce for a long-time running.
In 2016, Cameron was listed by Radio Facts as the #1 non-syndicated radio show in the nation.
In 2002, he established The Ryan Cameron Foundation Leadership Academy, which takes gives teens a chance to enhance in life-skills, leadership, academic and career advancement, while taking part in the community for healthy lifestyles and anti-violence.
The beloved Atlanta radio host is currently in the intensive care unit (ICU) recovering from emergency surgery.
The news of Cameron’s condition was released by his family on Sunday, April 12, on social media through his current employer, Majic 107.5/97.5.
“On behalf of the family of Ryan Cameron, we are asking for your fervent prayers as he recovers from emergency surgery that took place earlier this week. We ask for privacy during this difficult time. Thank you for your love and concern.”
Numerous news sources initially reported Cameron experienced a heart attack, which brought about the critical procedure. However, his family denies those reports.
Former host of TV One’s “Sister Circle” Rashan Ali is temporary filling in for Cameron on his show “Ryan Cameron Uncensored.”
Ali shared a few words of comfort while on-air by saying, “Ryan will win this battle. He’s won so many battles in his life and this is no different. But the most important people that we should be lifting up right now are the people who carry his last name.”
